  • Reduced Incidence and Demand: Other pooled data suggest ginger reduces the overall incidence of PONV and lowers the demand for rescue antiemetic drugs.
  • Dose Matters: A separate meta-analysis specifically evaluating doses of 1 gram or more of ginger found it significantly more effective than placebo for preventing both PONV and Postoperative Vomiting (POV), with a summary relative risk of 0.65 (35% lower incidence) and 0.62 (38% lower incidence), respectively.
